Steve’s success in family law didn’t happen by accident. It’s a combination of his unmatched commitment to his client’s needs, hard-earned knowledge and experience, and zealous spirit of advocacy. The foundation of all his legal work is his dedication to his clients getting the best possible outcome in the situations they face. Steve’s passion for the practice of law is evident in his tremendous commitment to mentoring colleagues at Johnson/Turner Legal.
Areas of Practice
Steve earned his Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law, cum laude. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota Morris in 1970 with a major in political science. Steve graduated from Waconia High School in 1966. Following graduation from college, Steve served in the United States Army, and spent thirteen months with the 287th Military Police in West Berlin, Germany.
Honors & Community
Steve has been honored by Law & Politics as a Super Lawyer in the legal community. He is AV® Rated by the prestigious LexisNexis Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. Steve is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Minneapolis Legal Aid Society and on the Board of Advisors for East Central Legal Services. Steve continues to provide pro bono legal representation through Central Minnesota Legal Services’ Volunteer Attorney Program, and is a North Star Lawyer.
